Mar. 5 – The Singapore Chamber of Commerce, the Danish Chamber of Commerce and the Israel Chamber of Commerce hosted an event on 2010 annual tax compliance and audit requirements for individuals and small and medium sized enterprises at the Westin Hotel in Beijing yesterday.

Keynote speaker Sabrina Zhang of Dezan Shira and Associates presented important considerations concerning bookkeeping requirements, tax filing obligations, and annual audit and tax compliance. She also noted that new representative office regulations had just been released and that local administration offices have yet to release further information on the implementation of these new rules.

During the breakfast event the attendees were given an overview of the current tax season and the latest requirements on how to administer everything related to it. As regulations on tax and legal matters change rapidly, it is important to stay informed about this essential part of operating a business in China. The deadline for individual income tax filing in China is March 31, 2010. The deadline for corporate income tax is May 31. Annual financial and foreign exchange audits for corporations are due before filing the tax return.
