Market Entry Qualifications for Printing Houses Updated
Apr. 23 – To speed up the adjustment of China’s industrial structure, better regulate market entry and promote efficient energy use, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently updated regulations regarding the market entry qualifications for printing businesses.
The updated regulations focus on improving enterprise production layout, processing equipment requirements, quality and management control, resource consumption, environmental protection and comprehensive utilization, safety and corporate social responsibility, and supervision and management.
Future investment in the printing industry will need to follow the guidelines of the updated regulations, including gaining approval from the relevant authorities regarding construction sites, land supply, credit and quality control, safety and operation monitoring.
The major changes of the updated regulations are as follows:
- No printing enterprises are allowed in scenic spots, natural reserves, or near major rivers; the enterprises which already set up business in the above areas will have to relocate
- New or modified printing expansion projects will mostly use advanced technology and energy saving equipment under strict management supervision
- Enterprises are encouraged to research and develop new low-consumption, low-pollution products, and to use new technology and materials to produce high quality, value-added textile products
- Enterprises should pay more attention to environmental protection, use resources in a responsible manner, as well as enhance supervision and management to ensure safety and corporate social responsibility
