Revision on Technology Import Procedures Announced
Feb. 6 – China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced a new revision on the Administration of Technology Prohibited or Restricted from Import Procedures.
Under the revised procedures, investigate privileges for import applications will be shifted from the MOC to the provincial and municipal commercial administration departments.
The Technology Prohibited and Restricted from Import by China Catalogue lists imports that are restricted and should be subject to the import licensing procedure.
Chinese authorities will assess whether an import is in accord with the country’s foreign trade policies, and whether it is beneficial to China’s economic and technological cooperation with other countries, reports Xinhua.
It shall also be determined if the import complies with China’s commitment to the other countries or whether it affects the development of relative domestic industries.
