Autumn represents the busiest time of year for trade fairs events, coinciding with increased concerns amongst overseas participants of protection of trademarks and patents. We examine the subject of intellectual property right, how to protect them, and what to do if your mark or patent is being infringed. The issue, produced jointly with China IPR specialist Verena Nowotny of the Austria Wirtschaftsservice, also deals with detecting infringements at events, introduces China’s relatively new IPR enforcement centers, and sets out the legal standards and protocols for administrative and judicial enforcement against infringement.
The issue also looks at civil and criminal enforcement of IPR laws by China’s courts, the Public Security Bureau, and Customs.
We also continue our series on China’s second- and third-tier cities with a look at Dalian in Northeast China, and Shantou, in the South.
China Briefing magazine is available for complimentary download via a free subscription obtainable here.
Subscription options are available in English, German, Italian, French and Spanish.
China Briefing’s new 60 page book “Intellectual Property Rights In China,” from which this issue of the magazine was aggregated, is available for purchase priced USD25 plus p&p (click on the book logo).
