Nov. 16 – Foreign direct investment into China increased for the third consective month in October the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.

According to Yao Jian, a spokesman for the ministry, FDI into China increased 5.7 percent year-on-year to US$7.1 billion.

China’s has rebounded quicker from the global financial crises than many experts expected driven in part by a massive stimulus package and the beginning of a long-term reorienting of the nation away from an export-driven economy towards a more consumer-based one. A move that is expected to take at least three to five years to fully realize.
