Chongqing Releases First Food and Entertainment Service Standards
Dec. 7 – The Chongqing municipal quality supervision department has released the country’s first food and entertainment service standards for local food service providers.
The Chongqing Nanbin Road Food Service Standard enumerates 21 criteria under 10 categories including the basis for service, service quality, service safety, and service management. According to the new standards, the staff of food service providers must at least have a certificate from junior middle school. Staff lacking in educational qualifications will be eligible for training.
The new standards are not compulsory although Chongqing authorities say the more offer favorable conditions will be available for companies following the standard. It also advises that catering venues use international signs and symbols for business.
