Wind power
US-based Navajo Wind Energy acquired Chinese wind power company Guangzhou Jianianxiang. Through the acquisition, Navajo plans to boost the expansion of its wind power facilities in the world’s most populous country.
Solar power
Chinese National Development and Reform Commission will announce on March 20 which company will win the bid for building a 10 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Dunhuang. Thirty-eight companies have joined the race: 36 domestic, one German and one Danish.
Air transport
US-based Continental Airlines Inc. will start flying daily from March 25 from New York to Shanghai. One Boeing 777-200 has been designated to serve the route.
Shanghai Airlines Co. Ltd. expects to get between RMB1 billion to RMB2 billion worth of government aid. For that reason, the company shares have been suspended from trading.
