Solar power
Chinese solar cells maker China Sunergy Co. saw its revenues rise by 49.4 percent to US$350.9 million last year. Gross profit for 2008 was US$15.5 million, down from US$18 million in 2007. The company’s revenues in the fourth quarter of 2008 were US$43.2 million, 39.6 percent less than a year earlier while gross loss reached US$14.3 million.
Air transport
China Eastern Airlines Corporation will spin off its Yunnan-based business, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary. The completion of the registration process is expected by the end of March.
Hainan Airlines Co. will start flying three times a week on a new route Beijing – Moscow – Beijing. The line will be operated by Airbus 330.
