China – India roundup, India Briefing launched

It’s been a busy week for Dezan Shira & Associates, the firm behind China Briefing, and it’s all to do with India.

Last week the practice opened three offices – Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai – specializing in foreign direct investment legal and tax matters into India for international clients, and we here at China Briefing published our new July edition, a China-India special. The firm’s Senior Partner, Chris Devonshire-Ellis, then spoke at ASSOCHAM’s annual conference in Delhi about the development of free trade zones in China on Friday, and today we launched our baby sister magazine, India Briefing.

Like China Briefing has been for the past eight years in China, India Briefing will be in India – a free monthly magazine and blog, run by handsome and beautiful expatriate and local lawyers, accountants and researchers all working for Dezan Shira & Associates. Well, maybe we’ll forget that bit, true as it is. But it is free, and subscribers can access it by filling in the subscription form on the homepage. You’ll then be sent the pdf access file every month to your personal account, along with details of various India business events, book offers and so on. Content will focus on foreign direct investment issues in India, much as China Briefing does for China. Pre-launch subscribers reached a whopping 12,500 individuals, so the demand is huge.

Meanwhile, other China-India news, comments and comparisons can be reached at our specialist Chindia business and academic forum, 2point6billion.com.
