British Business Awards China Winners Announced
Nov. 7 – China’s first British Business Awards was held last night at the Westin Hotel in Beijing. The event was co-sponsored by the various British and China government agencies, including the British Chamber of Commerce, the British Business Council, The 48 Group, U.K. Trade & Investment, the Confederation of British Industry, and the China-Britain Business Council.
According to the British ambassador, Sir William Ehrman, the event aimed to “celebrate the best of British business spirit, while highlighting Britain’s strong economic ties as the largest European investor in China.”
The event was presided over by Prince Andrew and various awards were handed out and the winners of the night.
• Company of the Year: AstraZeneca China
• Entrepreneur Award: Dominic Johnson-Hill, Plastered T-Shirts
• Alumnus Award: Yan Xin Min, Volvo Event Management
• Innovative Product or Service Award: Hayward-Tyler Pumps Kunshan
• Corporate Social Responsibility Program Award: GlaxoSmithKline
• Young Icebreaker Award: Fan Zhen Xin, Amber Design & Public Relations
The winners were selected based from a total of 4,371 votes cast by the British community in China to select the winners, who were also interviewed by a judging panel.
