Beijing Plans RMB50 Billion Animation City
Oct. 15 – Beijing is planning to raise RMB50 billion for an Animation and Game City inspired by Hollywood and Disneyland.
Beijing has committed to provide RMB100 million yearly to support the project to attract the country’s emerging online game and internet companies like Sohugame, Linekong, NetEase, Tencent and Giant.
The planned 83 hectare area will be located in Beijing at the former site of state-owned steelmaker, Shougang Group. People’s Daily says the area will include a theme park, trade management center, research and production center, business service platform, office building, hotel and living areas.
Companies setting-up in the are will be qualified for favorable tax policies, land development, infrastructure construction, financial support and recruitment.
