Work-related Injury and Death Compensation to Increase in 2011
Jul. 22 – Chinese officials recently stated that starting from January 1, 2011, one-time compensation standards for work-related injuries and deaths caused by workplace accidents will be calculated at 20 times the national disposable income of urban residents for last year.
According to the directors of the State Administration for Work Safety, once these new standards are implemented, relatives of employees who have died in workplace accidents will be able to receive compensation of up to RMB600,000, nearly double the previous compensation amount.
