China Plays Hardball as ADB/India Loan Row Continues
India has rejected a loan from the Asian Development Bank of US$60 million for infrastructure project developments in Arunachal Pradesh state as China insisted on clauses within the loan agreement preventing ADB members from recognizing the state as being Indian territory. (2point6billion.com)

Chinese Salaries Rank High in Asian Managerial Comparison
Global banking and investment services company, UBS, has issued their Prices and Earnings Report 2009 showing that wages for Chinese managers have risen considerably.The report is published every three years and compares prices of goods and services, incomes, income taxes, working hours and vacation days for 14 different occupations in 73 cities around the world. Chinese Sanskrit Scholar Honored By India
The Indian Government has conferred the title of Padma Bushan, the nation’s third highest civilian honor, on a Chinese scholar specializing in translation of Sanskrit texts into Chinese. The decision to honor widely-respected Indonologist Ji Xianlin, coming within 10 days of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to China, is seen in Beijing as a strong and reliable hand of friendship. China’s Huawei to Double Revenues in India
Chinese equipment maker, Huawei Technologies, is aiming to double its Indian revenues to US$2.6 billion in 2009.This year, the company surpassed Alcatel-Lucent to become the third largest mobile network gear maker in the world. Huawei still has no manufacturing facility in the country but is working with all major telecom operators including Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar, Idea Cellular and Bharat Sanchar Nigam.
